A point is a goal or an assist. One of them advances you. The sheet is the board. This is the part that fits in public.

The slate

All times Eastern. Moneylines are the NHL.com board.

Senators −180, Flyers +150. 7:00, Minnesota at Tampa Bay. Lightning −142, Wild +120. 7:00, Vancouver at Carolina. Hurricanes −340, Canucks +270. 7:30, Chicago at the Islanders. Golden Knights −170, Maple Leafs +142.

Do not use Connor Bedard. He is on injured reserve with a shoulder. Teuvo Teravainen is out. Thatcher Demko is out. Victor Olofsson is week to week for Vegas. Ivan Demidov is out for Montreal. Sam Montembeault is hurt, so Jacob Fowler starts.

How to read odds, FV, EV, POP

Odds are the American price to record a goal or an assist. Minus-265 means you lay 265 to win 100. Plus-125 means 100 wins 125.

Implied is that price turned into a chance. A minus number is the absolute value divided by the absolute value plus 100. A plus number is 100 divided by the price plus 100. Minus-265 is 72.6 percent. Plus-125 is 44.4 percent. Minus-105 is 51.2 percent.

FV, fair value, is the chance he actually records the point once the hold is out. POP is that same chance. On a posted price with no separate model, the sheet takes a 4.5 percent hold off the implied number. Eichel at −265 is 72.6 percent implied. POP is 69.5 percent. FV is −228.

EV is that chance against the posted price. On Eichel, EV is the book hold, about −4.3 percent. Positive means the number is still short of fair. Flat or negative means you are paying for the name.

Survivor does not need plus-money. It needs the point, at a price that has not already run past fair. Confirm he dresses. An alternate replaces a primary who does not play.

One safe lean

Jack Eichel, Vegas, in the 10:00 game.

The posted 1+ point is −265. Vegas is −170. He has a point in all four games, 10 points in those four, and a goal and three assists Tuesday in Seattle. The 2+ point is +165. That is a different bet. The survivor spot is the 1+, not the 2+.

One flex

Sebastian Aho, Carolina, in the 7:00 game.

Anytime goal was +125. Carolina is −340. Four goals in four games, and three straight with a point. Vancouver is without Thatcher Demko. This is a goal price, not a posted 1+ point. Use it when you do not want to lay −265 on the late game.

One trap

Tim Stutzle, Ottawa, in the 7:00 game.

DraftKings has the assist at −105. Ottawa is −180. Six points in three games is the heater. The posted market is an assist, not the point. A survivor click on an assist price is how the streak ends on the wrong market.

Bedard is the other trap. The name is live. He is not playing.

What this note does not include

The rest of the board is on the sheet. Team moneyline is on every name. A player price is only there if a book posted it. A dash is not a price.
