NBA Point Streak: Safe, Flex & Trap Oct 25
By Shawn Stewart
Splash NBA Point Streak Survivor for Sunday, October 25. You need 20+ points to advance (Day 1 requires at least one of two primaries). One-time use only. Always check the final injury report before lock.
Safe: Anthony Edwards (Timberwolves)
Edwards is averaging 30.0 PPG through two games (45 and 15). He took 23 shots in the 15-point outing, so the volume is there. Minnesota is home against Toronto at 7:00 PM ET. High usage, primary scorer, and even his low night still showed the shot attempts needed for 20+.
What could go wrong: Another cold shooting night like the Orlando game.
Worth saving? Yes — save him if you want a later high-upside night.
Flex: Tyrese Maxey (76ers)
Maxey is at 28.7 PPG in three games (28, 32, 26). Every game has been 26 or better so far. Philadelphia is 3-0 and hosts Detroit at 7:30 PM ET. Consistent high-minute role and scoring floor. Note that the 76ers played yesterday, so this is the second night of a back-to-back.
What could go wrong: Fatigue on the back-to-back drops his efficiency or minutes.
Worth saving? Borderline — strong option now if you need a reliable 20, but you can hold if you prefer Edwards or another star later.
Trap: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (Thunder)
Shai is averaging 24.5 PPG, but he just scored only 17 on 6-of-19 shooting against Denver. The big name will draw plenty of ownership. Oklahoma City hosts the Clippers at 7:00 PM ET (Clippers are missing key pieces). Variance is already showing.
What could go wrong: Another inefficient night or limited touches if the game gets out of hand.
Worth saving? Yes — better to save the big name for a night with cleaner volume.
Lock in Edwards for the highest floor, use Maxey if you want a second reliable option, and fade Shai tonight. Confirm final injury status and Splash rules before the deadline.
